Room size and ventilation requirements
When selecting a bioethanol fireplace, it’s essential to consider both the size and ventilation of your space. All fires - including clean-burning bioethanol fires - consume oxygen from the room as they operate. For this reason, each EcoSmart bioethanol burner requires a minimum room size to ensure safe operation and optimal performance. For example, the BK5 burner (5L capacity) requires a minimum room size of 70 cubic metres (2,472 cubic feet), while larger burners such as the XL900 (9L) require at least 110 cubic metres (3,884 cubic feet).
Bioethanol fireplaces are flue-less and vent-free, so all the warmth stays in your space - yet maintaining adequate air circulation remains important.
Modern heating solutions and safety features
Today's fireplaces combine aesthetic appeal with practical heating capabilities. Modern bioethanol burners can produce between 3.5kW to 6kW (12,000 to 20,000 BTU) of heat, effectively warming spaces of 40-60 square metres (430-645 square feet).
EcoSmart Fire’s commitment to safety is evident in every detail:
Safe Filling System: Dedicated filling points are separated from the ignition zone, and the provided safety spout rests on a plate within the filling point to eliminate splash and spills during fuel decanting - eliminating spills and preventing overfilling.
Seamless, Leak-Free Construction: Burners are fabricated from deep-drawn, 304-grade stainless steel, creating a seamless tank that eliminates the risk of leaks.
Clear Safety Markings: Etched reminders on each burner indicate safe fill levels and reinforce best-practice operation, such as never filling while hot or in use.
